“The whole world opened up to me when I learned to read.”
- Mary McCleod Bethune
Hup, Two, Three, Four...Eastridge is ready to make the score! This year we are excited to have our 4th annual IREAD Bootcamp! There are over fifty third graders signed up to open up their worlds by becoming more equipped to read books.
The course of the evening consist of three reading rotations. The students are broken into small groups that work on information text, literature, and vocabulary. The 16 dedicated staff make each rotation purposeful, yet full of fun.
The students who stay for the three week boot camp receive cool learning tools to take home with them every week as they chow down on delicious dinner provided by Chartwells and our wonderful cafeteria manager. At the end of training, students who persevered will be rewarded with their own IREAD bootcamp shirt and a book to grow with!
Friday, February 10, 2017 was an evening of enchantment and excitement for the young ladies at Eastridge Elementary school. This was the night that PTA hosted the annual Father Daughter Dance. Smiles beamed across the faces of all as teachers greeted each couple at the door.
Girls attended the ball with the special men in their lives. Some were brought by fathers, stepfathers, uncles, grandfathers, or family friends. The PTA alongside of Warren Central’s National Honor’s Society worked overtime to ensure the ladies and gentlemen had an enchanting time. As the D.J. kept the music blasting, the dining room was decorated in white, red, and pink and staff was in the kitchen serving dinner to those who wanted to partake. Families lined up to take pictures on the red carpet with fun props to add to the celebration of love.
When the couples were asked their favorite part of the evening, it was definitely getting to spend time with the ones they love.
A salute to “The Ridge” was presented on Wednesday, February 15th at the Warren Township Board Meeting. Mrs. LeClaire, the commander and chief, gave a dynamic presentation sharing the accomplishments of our school. What is there to celebrate at Eastridge? Here are a few highlights:
